How do I customise Exception colours?

Using customised colours is a useful tool in helping to differentiate between the various Exceptions when viewing Calendars, Timesheets and the Availability screen.

This guide will look at:

  • Changing the Exception colours
  • Exceptions and Timesheets
  • Exceptions and Calendars
  • Exceptions and the Availability screen

Changing the Exception colours

  1. Select ‘System’ from the Menu Bar.
  2. Open the ‘System’ file from the System Tree.
  3. Select ‘System Setup’.
  4. Select the ‘Colours’ tab.
  1. Select a colour next to an Exception to bring up a colour picker. Simply choose your required colour.
  2. Ticking ‘Show On Timesheet’ results in your chosen colours being applied to Exceptions on employee Timesheets. Unticked, Exceptions viewed on employee Timesheets will be predominantly red.
  3. Save.

Exceptions and Timesheets

Important note - because of the yellow and white backgrounds, some lighter colours (eg. yellow) do not stand out as well on Timesheets as bolder or darker ones do.

Exceptions and Calendars

In ‘Options’, selecting both ‘Absent’ and ‘System’ will show all the Exceptions in the Calendar with their corresponding colours.

Exceptions and the Availability screen

In ‘Options’, selecting both ‘Absent’ and ‘System’ will show all the Exceptions in the Availability screen with their corresponding colours.

Additional information

‘Report Background’ is not an Exception. The colour is used on alternate lines to make longer Reports more legible. If you don’t want this striped effect, change the colour to white.
