How do I use Group Actions to make changes to Employee Records?

Group Actions is a time-saving feature that allows you to make bulk changes to Employee Records. Whether you wish to give them all a Self Service profile, assign them a new skill or increase their gross hourly pay, Group Actions is the quickest and safest way of doing so.

  1. Select ‘Employees’ from the Menu Bar.
  2. Right-click on the required ‘Group’ from the Employee Tree.
  3. Select ‘Group Actions’ - a pop-up box will appear.
  4. By ticking ‘Primary Group Only’, any changes made will only affect the Primary Group members.
  5. If making the same change to more than one Group, tick all the appropriate Groups. The Group you initially selected should already be ticked.
  6. In ‘Set Field’, select the type of change you wish to make (eg. Self Service Profile) from the drop-down menu.
  7. Select the ‘New Value’ (eg. Distribution) from the drop-down menu.
  8. Depending on which field you have selected to change, an additional box may appear requiring further information.
  9. Select ‘Apply’.
  10. A warning message will appear, showing the changes that are about to be made. Select ‘OK’ if you wish to proceed.

  1. A ‘Success’ message will appear. Select ‘OK’.
  2. The Group Actions box remains open, in case you wish to make any further changes. Once done, select ‘Cancel’.

Additional information

Using ‘Import’, in the System Menu, you can make a wider range of changes to Employee Records. However, this is a lengthier process and should be done with caution, as there is a risk of overwriting crucial data by mistake.
